Genre: Alternative Rock / Post-Hardcore / Ambient Attalus prides themselves on a strong work ethic and extremely energetic live performances. This stems from a passion for what they do, which just happens to be making amazing music. Based out of Raleigh, NC, this 5 piece rock band blends faith, harmonies and good ol’ fashioned breakdowns to connect with their devoted local following. Having shared the stage with national acts such as Anberlin, The Rocket Summer, Hawthorne Heights and others, it is just a matter of time before they break out to a bigger scene. Their home-recorded debut EP, “The Greater Tide,” immediately helped to establish them among one of the top bands in the Triangle and their follow-up, “Post Tenebras Lux,” has only helped to spur on their appeal. They have proven that they are not simply a pop-up band that simply writes and performs music that follows the latest trends too. Many of the songs on Post Tenebras Lux tackle some deep, thought provoking topics such as faith, doubt, the role of evil and God’s grace on humanity. To simply go to one of their shows and get lost in the thrashing and moshing of the crowd would be missing out on a tremendous depth and elegance to their music that is so rare for a band so young. Though they were just established in 2010, Attalus has already proven themselves in the local music scene. Where they go from here will be fun to watch.
