Little Majorette is now releasing a laboriously selected set of arresting songs, all part of a greater treasure of collected recordings. This may count as a debut, but the band members are already well established in the music industry. The product of their collaboration is a sonic feast and we wouldn’t expect anything less from the creative minds behind this setup. Unique and mesmerizing but not easily defined, the character of Little Majorette's sound mirrors the diversity of the characters in the band with the red line being the catchy melodies, the delicate balancing of digital and analogue elements and the tender vocals of Zoe Durrant. The band's nucleus core, consisting of ZOE DURRANT, PETTER WINNBERG and NILS TORNQVIST, met in a friend's studio during a recording session and decided to have a go at writing songs for other artists together. Before long, they realized the music they made was a fingerprint match to their own personal style. It just sounded better when they performed it. Songs returned to sender, they formed a band and took the name Little Majorette – becoming one had been a childhood dream of Zoe's. All members of the trio are deeply rooted within their respective music-scene. Zoe Durrant is the former vocalist of indie Londoners Havana Guns. Petter Winnberg and Nils Tornqvist were both in the iconic Icelandic reggae rockers Hjalmar and continue to work side by side in the touring ensemble of the Swedish-American supergroup Miike Snow. All namedropping aside, their hearts always remained in the studio in Stockholm. Between live gigs and other engagements, Little Majorette went about recording countless hours of material, not really giving any thought to releasing it. Maybe it's the curse of the true artistic mind that the desire to create overshadows the will to expose your creation.
