Roquette
Metrophonique - Roquette is the latest release on Popart Music. METROPHONIQUE Metrophonique is a musical project that was born in 2007 in Milan outskirts, when Marco and Matteo (who both attended Audio Engineering) decided to combine their passion for electro music. They had the same idea: playing with the 4/4 of house music, contaminating it with the different music roots they come from: hip-hop, punk, reggae and especially the electro made in the UK in the late '90s. At the beginning Metrophonique was a 4-hand DJ-set (4decks/2 mixers): Marco and Matteo gave life to entertaining live performances. But they felt they wanted to create and produce their own sound, characterized by groove, minimal contaminations, samples and melodic riffs. In December 2009 they released their first EP, Shinobi, on Tanzbar Digital, followed by 3 more releases on Plakat Records, which included the remixes by Enzo Elia, Tone15 and MarSet. In July 2011 the EP Barnaba was released on Polluted Records. It was a release influenced by techno and supported also by Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna, Nudisco and Oliver Schories. In that same year they also released a remix for Nisco's EP Golden Times on Joyfull Family Records, appreciated by Marco Carola, Someone Else and Zoe Xenia. In 2012, thanks to the EP C'est la vie, released in July, they kept collaborating with the Joyfull Family, with the remix of Refresh, while on August their track Cadabra was included in Message from Yuma, a compilation that gathers emerging artists under Yuma Record label. In September 2012 they will launch their own label: Cat for Lunch that will become the signature label to release not just their productions but also those of young emerging international artists.
