Well after ten years it's about time that this previously unreleased album hits CD Baby town. In 2000 I moved down to Victoria from Queensland and ended up in Mount Beauty, home of Mount Bogong; the highest mountain in Victoria at 1986 metres above sea level. I stayed for a month then ended up in the Yarra Valley, where I spent most of my time for the next six years. Towards the end of these six years, I went back to Mount Beauty and rented a house close to town. It was winter and it was cold. Always around one degree every morning with insufficient heating to warm the three bedroom weatherboard house. I spent my days off work walking in the beautiful Victorian Alps and playing and writing songs. It was a gentle and creative and inspirational though lonely December for me in that house. Travelling back to the Yarra valley to see friends relieved the boredom and of course recording with Paul at Strahany's Sound Studio was the end result. It comes across in the songs that I had the time to find a common feel for the album which comes from writing a group of songs quickly in the same season and same house.
